Representatives from two online schools now hold office hours aboard Camp Lejeune. Their hours and representative contact information is listed below. Military personnel who wish to attend either school listed can utilize the military tuition assistance program as long as they are degree seeking.
American Military University

Active duty personnel can utilize military tuition assistance to obtain a vocational certificate from both Fayetteville State University and National Training, Inc.
Fayetteville State University
FSU is currently offering a vocational certificate in Windows Network Administration. This 18-semester hour program is designed as a short-term objective to provide a student with a solid foundation in the subject matter that leads to a vocational certificate that will prepare the student to complete their professional certification exams. The total program length is seven (7) months.
Mr. Carlton Hackney holds office hours in Room 125 (Building 825) from 1000 to 1800 Monday through Friday and can be reached at (910) 451-3715. Courses are held in one of the computer labs in building 825.
National Training Inc.

Student’s options for higher education range from a vocational certificate up through a Masters Degree.

Courses are offered in a convenient weekend format with classes meeting approximately every other weekend during three semesters each year. Students may take two courses per semester and may complete the program in as little as 20 months. Students in our programs are recognized as full members of the Boston University community.

Campbell University is a four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Baptist Convention of North Carolina. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Baccalaureate, and Masters degrees. The main campus is located in Buies Creek, NC, approximately 110 miles northwest (about two hours driving time) from Jacksonville.
Campbell maintains offices and conducts classes aboard both Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River. The university operates on a semester system using a term schedule. Each term is 8-9 weeks long, and there are five terms per year. In general, two terms are the equivalent of one semester. Students usually attend class twice a week (M/W or T/Th) in the evenings or once a week on Saturday mornings.

Coastal Carolina Community College is an “open door” community college serving the residents of eligible age in Onslow County and the surrounding areas. The curriculum programs are designed to provide college transfer, technical, and vocational education.
The Curriculum Education Division supports a variety of programs and degree offerings. Students interested in pursuing a degree with Coastal would need to complete an application, take any necessary testing and meet with a counselor. Some of the degrees offered are listed below. Other Associate of Applied Science, Vocational Diploma, and Certificate programs are available on the main campus.

Serving the military and civilian population since 1976. Most courses are non-sequential, allowing students to enroll for any class during the semester. Consistent with The University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s outreach mission and desire to provide additional access to quality education, the Watson School of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School and School of Nursing, in collaboration with the Division of Academic Affairs and Extended Education, have established a program to offer undergraduate and graduate level programs in Onslow County.
The University, in conjunction with Coastal Carolina Community College and the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, is offering citizens of Onslow County opportunities to complete the following degrees:
The UNCW Extension Program is characterized as an upper-level curriculum with a combination of on-site and some Internet courses.
Prior to beginning UNCW’s bachelor degree programs in Onslow County, students must have completed at least 24 semester hours of college level work that includes 6 transferable semester hours of English Composition, and at least 3 transferable semester hours of college-level mathematics. Students with bachelor degrees from regionally accredited institutions are eligible to apply to the graduate programs or take courses for teacher licensure.
Military and dependents who are not North Carolina residents may complete the Application for the Benefit of Reduced Tuition Rates as a Member of the Armed Services or Dependent Relative in order to receive in-state rates.

To make higher education accessible to working adults, we offer evening programs to all active duty military, their dependents and employees affiliated with Camp Lejeune and surrounding bases. Webster University recognizes that many of its students are also working professionals. Therefore classes are conveniently held one night a week per class from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., five terms a year, which should allow each student to succeed at their own pace. Terms begin January, March, May, August and October. Each term lasts 9 weeks with registration occurring approximately 4 weeks prior to the start of each term. Webster is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
