Getting Started

Before attempting giant leaps you should take slow, careful steps as you begin your Lifelong Learning journey.  Your first step is to stop by the Education Center and complete an initial interview with a counselor.  NEVER sign anything with any school prior to completing that initial interview.  Our counselors will work with you to help you design a strategy for success that works for YOU!

If you plan to use military Tuition Assistance (TA) to help you pay for your learning program you must first complete a mandatory TA screening process involving a few simple steps.  Your Education Center counselor will outline those required steps during your initial interview.

Occasionally, some customers find it useful to visit the Transition Support Section of Marine & Family Services (even prior to taking that first Lifelong Learning step) to take advantage of a free, valuable resource called DISCOVER YOUR SKILLS, a web-based career exploration tool.  Often, when customers can identify a career goal it’s then easier for them to set realistic and achievable education goals directly related to that career goal.  For more information on this valuable tool, please contact Bruce Lockwood at (910) 451-3212 ext. 211.

We are here to help you with your educational goals!
