Lejeune Testing Center
The John A. Lejeune Education Center testing department offers Military Classification Testing, DANTES Testing, exam proctoring, and eCLEPs and eDSSTs (in partnership with UNC Wilmington). The testing department hours of operation are 0700 to 1600 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 0700 to 1430 on Wednesday, and 0700 to 1330 on Friday.

“Rush scoring” does not exist for ACT/SAT or AFCT tests. Allow nine weeks for SAT scores, four weeks for ACT scores, and four weeks for AFCT scores.
Civilian Testing
UNCW is expanding its National Testing Center on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and is now administering DSST tests. DSST test are similar to CLEP test. The DANTES Subject Standardized Test® (DSST) gives students the opportunity to receive college credit for what they already know by earning qualifying scores on any of the 37 examinations.
Study Materials
A wide variety of exams are available via Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) to aid students in earning college credit through the completion of eCLEP and eDSST exams.
Adequate study and preparation time is required for all exams. eCLEP and eDSST exams are the equivalent of 1-full semester of a college course condensed into a timed 90-minute final exam. Study materials and practice exams are available through the following websites:

Proctoring Information
Limited proctoring services are available for authorized personnel only – active duty & reserve military personnel, military spouses, military retirees, DoD and NAF personnel. Restrictions apply for the administration of all proctored exams. For more information regarding proctoring services, contact Ms. Diane Kalsow. Students must obtain prior approval in-person directly from Ms. Kalsow for all proctor requests.

Military Testing
Military classification tests are available to active duty and active reserve personnel for all branches of service. Personnel are required to obtain an exam specific authorization form from Mr. Paul Parker in the John A. Lejeune Education Center testing department. In order to schedule an AFCT, DLAB, DLPT, or OPI these forms must be completed and signed by the military personnel’s Commanding Officer and submitted to the Testing Officer (Room 120). Military Classification Exams offered are:
- Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT)
- Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB)
- Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT)
- Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)
- TABE Testing Screening Sheet (MOS lateral moves only)
