The courses located aboard Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune have been designed to provide individual challenges; a professional race staff conducts events with all timing performed using the ChampionChip system. Over 90 awards per event are presented with all finishers accumulating Grand Prix points to qualify for the Grand Prix Awards at the end of the year. Regardless of your athletic background or your competitive desires, the Marine Corps Grand Prix Series offers an event planned for you. Begin planning your race strategy now, as you accept our challenge to gain “ultimate athlete status” at the end of the Marine Corps Grand Prix Series! INDIVIDUAL: Grand Prix Series points will be awarded to individuals on the following basis for each event:
Finishing = 5 points
Age Category Winners: First - 15 Second - 13 Third - 11 Fourth - 9 Fifth - 7 |
Overall Winners (Male, Female, Masters Male, and Masters Female): First - 18 Second - 17 Third - 16 |
Total points accumulated from all the races determine the Grand Prix Champion.
The Marine Corps Grand Prix Series offers a variety of events and a unique opportunity for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to test their physical fitness, mental preparedness, and athletic skills. The series for 2010 will include events at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, and several local events where participants can earn Grand Prix points. Points earned at those races will count toward total Grand Prix points. Events are open to the public.
