MAJOR GENERAL DAVID B. BARKER/CENTURY LINK SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS SOUGHT In September 1985, Sprint began awarding annual $1,000 college/university scholarships to military dependents of active duty personnel stationed at Camp Lejeune or Marine Corps Air Station, New River and continues to do so under the newly organized company Century Link (formerly EMBARQ). The scholarships pertain only to individuals attending, or accepted to, four-year colleges or universities. Details and Scholarship applications are available at the Guidance Department of area high schools, Coastal Carolina Community College, Consolidated Education Center and the Personal Readiness and Community Support Branch of Marine Corps Community Services located at the Russell Marine and Family Services, Building 40. Deadline for applications for the 2010-2011 college years is 5 April 2010.
