Stabilization Program

Q: What is it?
A: The Stabilization policy allows military members with dependent high school seniors to request stabilization from PCS movement during the child’s senior year. This action must be initiated by the parent or guardian and is designed to provide a stable environment for the graduating student.

Q: What do I do to start the process?
A: Initiate a DA Form 4187 requesting stabilization. The DA Form 4187 will include: 1. High school senior’s name and SSN 2. Letter/memo from school with projected grad. date of senior. Marine must indicate on the form any scheduled training during high school academic year.

Q: When do I apply?
A: Apply between March of student’s sophomore year and September of the junior year
