The NEW Camp Lejeune Staff NCO Club will open tentatively in June of 2008. The focus is to build a warm and inviting “Cheers” like feel to the inside, while still maintaining functionality for events. The décor will be classic, and we are actively soliciting for Marine Corps Memorabilia to display. The Marine Museum has agreed to fill a display case with new and changing displays of history and traditions.
The club will seat approximately 70 and have big screen TVs, pool tables, a beautifully handcrafted bar, and a virtual golf terminal. The high end virtual golf machine is the type that pros use in teaching swing adjustments and techniques. The player uses real clubs and takes a full swing at the golf ball. The computer imaging program measures the club head speed, swing and attitude which determines where the ball will go. You can select many golf courses including Pebble Beach to see what it would be like. It is likely to be a favorite among members.
We will begin by offering food and beverage service from 5pm to 10pm Tuesday through Friday evenings. After we’ve been open a while, we’ll evaluate if there are any other time slots we can expand into that would make financial sense. Food service will be available for anyone who would like to dine with us from the Education Center.
We are available for booking private events on nights when we aren’t open, and during the morning and afternoon for PMEs. We anticipate using the facility for retirement events and hopefully other social events as well.
