DISCONTINUATION OF THE INTRAMURAL TACKLE FOOTBALL PROGRAM
Due to continually declining numbers in patronage, Marine Corps Community Services will no longer offer an Intramural Tackle Football program. With decreased interest in this program, we will focus our efforts into new opportunities and growing our existing programs. The MCCS Varsity Football program will not be affected and will continue as planned. Varsity Football is open to all Active Duty personnel aboard Camp Lejeune.

We encourage all past tackle football participants to consider playing in the Intramural Flag Football League that will run this fall. This is an opportunity for Marines who love the sport of football to compete in a safe atmosphere while promoting mission readiness through physical fitness.

If you have questions or concerns, please call the MCCS, Camp Lejeune Sports Branch at 910-451-3762.

By Mark O. Piggott, Public Affairs Officer

YORKTOWN – Registration for the Mid-Atlantic Region, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department’s annual all-military Wilderness Challenge opens, April 1, for all members of the armed forces. More than 300 military personnel representing teams from around the world are expected to compete. Only the first 60 teams will secure a spot in the Wilderness Challenge, so teams are encouraged to register early.
